TWM Current Obsession – December 2020

The Wed Mag Team is slowly transiting (to be honest…we started in November) into peak festive season and of course the holiday mood. Weddings held towards the end of the year always bring with it an additional element of wonder and glamour, thanks to the Christmas décor we see all around. We’re not complaining though! With 2020, we could all do with a bit of a cheerful end to this strange year, even if through simple things like good old Christmas carols and chocolate log cakes.

So here’s what The Wed Mag Team is obsessed with this December!

Dotted Mesh

This is a lovely detail often seen in clothing and shoes! We are in love with the idea that this is the perfect pair of bridal shoes for a December Wedding – those dots are just like snow, aren’t they?

Christmas Playlists

We are guilty of starting holiday music in the office (or home) as soon as the calendar flipped to 1st November. It has been a yearly tradition for us, and it just makes everyone’s mood a whole lot better (there is a lot of singing along too!)

Here are some of The Wed Mag’s favourite Christmas playlists to work to:

Masks with Embroidered Initials

We are loving what local designers and tailors are doing with masks. We believe masks are here to stay for quite a while so why not have some fun with it?

The Suo Label has come up with the perfect Christmas Gift idea – masks with embroidered initials. Made locally in Singapore, their masks are as comfortable as a mask can get. We don’t know about you, but this is going straight into stockings for us!

Royal Weddings, and the Many Details

The thing about Royal Weddings is that….it will never be out of style. Conversations on Royal Weddings has been revived with the latest season of The Crown released on Netflix. We shared on our Instagram Stories some of our favourite elements and details found in Royal Weddings over the years. If you missed it, one detail we adored was how Meghan Markle’s veil was designed with the 53 Commonwealth countries in mind. The distinctive flora of each of these nations were united in one magnificent floral composition! (Follow us on Instagram if you haven’t, so we can all gush about our latest obsession!)

Keeping It Classic and White

White is a wedding colour typically used as a complementing colour in wedding concepts. If you’re planning for a wedding in December (say December 2021?), consider making White the central colour to your wedding concept, a fitting tribute to the Christmas Season! It sure is one classic way to celebrate this magical season without being overly festive. Even if your wedding is no where near December, an all-white colour palette is a timeless concept you will appreciate for the years to come!

That wraps up our monthly obsession for this year! Thank you for following along and we hope you and your dear ones have a very merry festive season!
